Thirumalai Chemicals Limited (TCL) is a publicly listed company in India. TCL started as a small, single product petrochemical producer in Tamilnadu, in 1976. Today TCL makes a wide range of critical inputs for the Paint, Resin, Polymer, Colourants and Food & Beverage industries. TCL serves over 1500 customers in India and in 30 countries in Europe, North America and Asean, from manufacturing centers in Tamil Nadu and Malaysia.

The company since early days saw employee training, safe & clean operations, and environmental compliance, as keys to business competitiveness and to integration with the local communities.

TCL prides itself on its pioneering work in developing and commercializing processes for conversion of by-products in its off gases and effluents, to valuable and fine chemicals, at a time when the US and European manufacturers were burning the off gases. Thirumalai Charity Trust (TCT), which helped grow and manage SIWS Schools & Colleges in Bombay since 1960, started its Rural development and Women’s Empowerment programmes in 1982 in Tamilnadu. It works in over 600 villages in Micro Credit, Health, Alcoholism, Disability, and Education. In 2010 TCT helped build a Rural Community Hospital “Thirumalai Mission Hospital” at Ranipet in Tamil Nadu.
