India's first world-scale E-SBR facility has been commissioned by Indian Synthetic Rubber Limited (ISRL) in the industrial town of Panipat, Haryana. The state-of-the-art, Greenfield facility is a trail-blazing venture, which epitomizes international cooperation and synergy amongst global giants. The project ofannual capacity of 1,20,000 MTs, been implemented by ISRL, a joint venture of IndianOil, TSRC & Marubeni.ISRL, thus, imbibes and leverages the values and core competencies of the three multinationals, resulting in an astounding synergy to put forth an unmatched value proposition to its customers and stakeholders.
IndianOil will supply the Butadiene feedstock from its Naphtha Cracker Plant at Panipat. The strategic location of ISRL plant also enables it to source utilities like power, steam, raw water etc. from IOCL's plant.
ISRL is backed by the R&D expertise of TSRC, who have many patents and innovations specific to synthetic rubber and thermoplastic elastomers. There are many experienced experts and an accomplished technical service team to serve the tyre customers and ascertain the quality of E-SBR. The company enjoys an exclusive license from TSRC Taiwan, to manufacture widely known TAIPOL brand of SBR 1500, 1502, 1712 and 1723 grades.
The capital cost of the project is estimated at Rs.9,500 million. The company has secured the most competitive financing available globally from reputed overseas banks.
The flagship project is spread over an area of 57 acres. It also has an advanced effluent treatment system, including a reverse osmosis (RO) plant with zero-liquid effluent discharge.
ISRL is committed to environmental protection and community development. The project sets apart substantial amount towards environment protection and conservation activities.
This manufacturing facility is a boon for India's rapidly-growing automotive sector companies, which will also provide them with an opportunity to optimize their logistics and inventory carrying costs. It has created the advantage to the domestic tyre makers, whose entire E-SBR demand was hitherto being imported till now. The setting up of ISRL, is indeed a path-breaking venture of national importance.
